Neolithic Era, ("New Stone Age") 100,000 to 35,000 years ago. This era was marked by the discovery and mastery of agriculture.
• Neolithic is the new stone age because of the refinements in tool-making techniques.
• Neolithic era refers to the early stages of agricultural society.
•Hunting and gathering was once a major part in surviving but over a course of time agriculture took its place.
•Gender roles were still used in agriculture like they were in hunting and gathering. The women did not do labor intensive jobs they did things such as caring for plants and gathering food from the wild while the men no longer hunted animals but captured them and domesticated them.
•Agriculture quickly started to spread and took the place of hunting and gathering in many countries.
• The rapidly increasing numbers of population and agricultural economy encourage Neolithic people to adopt a new social organization. Because of agriculture they decided to stop migratory life but, rather, to settle near their fields and construct permanent villages.
• They also begin to work in metal and textile production.
